Crazy Legs

Maggie May always has a leg kicked out when she sits or stands. Not sure why she does this, but we think it makes her even cuter!! We always thought that maybe her back legs were too long for her to sit or stand normally.

Do any other cats who've had luxating patella repairs do this? Do any other cats with normal legs do this?

  1. Maggie May is real cute and special! Sometimes I think our new little "it" does that. Mom has been watching her since she is new to our house!

  2. Maggie May would be cute wotever she did!

BTW mom hasta kneel wiv a leg sticking owt sideways since her bonegraft. She's having fizzy-o-ferapee but so far still can bend her foot well enuff to kneel.

So mom and Maggie shud have a club called "The weird leg Club!" Tee hee!

  3. Crazy legs! Hahahahaha! We don't do that, maybe it is really because of your surgery. We completely agree on that it's very, very cute!

  4. Maggie May just wants to show off her legs! Such a cutie

  7. I think this makes Maggie May be herself. Only she does this and it is her signature pose. She should think about having it copyrighted so no one else can copy it.

  11. That cute little girl looks like she's doing the "Hokey Pokey"...put your left foot in, you put your left foot out...

It just makes her all the more cute in our opinion. Srsly.

  13. Aw Maggie May you are so, so lovely. You should come to visit and then you can lie in the sauna with me, with your leg sticking out and getting nice and warm and toasty.

I don't stick my naughty patella leg out like you do, but I do love lying on my back with my paws in the air or stretched out. I also sleep curled up at other times - especially when I know my tummy might be tickled!

With lots of purrs and headbobks, greetings from your Finncat fan, Punapippuri xxxx

  14. Vincent Who Came Before used to do that after he had surgery to have cancer removed from near his hip. Once the skin stretched back out, he wouldn't do it as much, but since he ended up having 6 surgeries he did it more and more after each one.

  18. Aww Maggie May is adorable. As for seeing other cats do that I have not. But I think it's make Maggie May one of a kind ^_^

  19. That is very cute. Angel had an abscessed sore on her hind leg when we found her. She still, almost tow years later, lays on her opposite side so that leg is on top.

  20. That leg kicked out sure is a cute habit or adaptation. Sorry that you've been through so many repairs, Maggie May. Seems like you have lots of love though. Thanks for coming to see us!

  21. Gracie's hurty leg is like that, but it was broken at the top, middle and bottom and healed in such a way that she can not bend it.

As long as you are not in pain, we think however you sit is just fine and dandy, Maggie May!

  23. Maggie May is a beautiful cat. The way how she kicked out her leg is cute. Our doggie Patch has a luxation patella and he kicked out his legs like that too. i never heard that cats can get that too!

  24. Maggie May you are hilarious!!!
that is too funny. Our dachshund used to get imaginery things on his feet. He would walk around kicking his back leg like you are doing in the first picture. That brought back memories of that crazy hound!!!

  26. That's a cute little quirk! None of us here do anything like that, although my human claims (falsely, I must add), that we have lots of "mental quirks."

  27. We've never seen anything like that Maggie May but it does make you that much cuter! And you were already off the cuteness scale!

  28. That is a very cute pose Maggie! You're very smart to keep doing it since your humans go "AWWWWWW". We all know how much easier they are to wrap around our little paws when we make them go "Awwww"!

  30. LOL. Our foster kitty (who just happens to be named Maggie) does that, too. We just figured it was because she's on the plump side. She does not have a luxating patella, so maybe it's just a "Maggie thing!" :)

  31. We don't sit like that, but hey - if you look good doin' it, why not do it??

  32. I think that this is the cutest quirkiest most endearing thing that I've ever seen a cat do. She's sooo sweet. I love her and hope she's been feeling okay. Stay healthy little girl!

  33. Teehee, we see we're not the only one who thought "hokey pokey" from that first photo! That's very cute, Miss Maggie May, and we hope it's only because you like to do it and not 'cause of any hurty due to your surgery!

    Purrs and hugs,
    The Kitty Krew

  34. Maggie May is so cute in her photos! My cat, Tiger Lily, lays on the top of our love seat with her leg stretched out like that, too.
