Back To The Vet We Go

UPDATE: We've got an appointment for 3:15 est today. I will post another update when we get home. Marg left a comment about Mags possibly being allergic to the ointment she was prescribed for her eye last week. I also thought that could be the cause since the sores didn't appear until after I started applying the ointment. I stopped the ointment on Saturday just in case that was the problem. The lump next to her nose had opened up a little this morning and was red like the outer corner of her eye. This is so baffling!

We'll be headed back to the vet today if I can get an appointment. Maggie's actual eyeball is completely healed, but now she is having problems surrounding her eye. I promised her no photos last week when she was sensitive to light. The light is no longer bothering her and I needed some photos to show a vet tech friend of mine. You may have to biggify to see, but she has developed sores on the inner and outer corners of her eye and a lump near her whiskers. It's like nothing I've ever seen. Hopefully the vet can shed some light and also treat it. Luckily, she's been acting perfectly normal and the sores don't seem to bother her as much as they do me. It's always something.

  4. My darling, I am so worried about you. (And angry because I wanted to comment two hours ago but Äiti was busy). I am sending you lots of nuzzles and healing licks for your poor eye & nose. I hope it's not too painful and irritating. I know you have tortitude and are acting as feisty as normal, but I am sure you don't feel as good as you could. And I wish I could pack myself in a box and send myself to you so we could snuggle.
And don't worry, I still think you look absolutely beautiful, my Queen, and am proud to have you as my girlfriend.
Get well soon, and I shall be glued to your blog to read what the vet says. xxxxxx

  9. Poor Maggie May, that does look bad and we don't blame Mom for being worried. Wonder if she was a little allergic to the medicine for the eye. It looks inflamed all the way around. I hope that is all it is. Get those sores to go away Maggie May.

  18. OUCHY......Poor Maggie May, your Vet will probably need a skin scrape to know what it is like a fungus or ringworm.......unfortunately fungus can spread and even go to humans. Mommy adds baking soda to our laundry to keep that yucky stuff away. We sure hope you get better soon pretty girl, Luvz ya=^Y^=

  25. Poor Maggie May, that does look sore. We agree, it does look like an allergy as it has affected the places the ointment would seep on to. We are purring for it to soon heal.
