Out With The Old......

A few weeks ago I fell in love with a curved 50's sofa at the Salvation Army. We went back and looked at it a second time a few days later and the hubby was not so in love with the style, the comfort level or the $200 price tag. Yes, $200 is a lot for a thrift store sofa I told him, but it's so retro and cool! That didn't work. I was bummed! He was right in his argument that a sofa should be a comfy place to veg out and watch movies. The wooden arms and the 3" thick pad on the 50's sofa.....not so cozy. This got me thinking (which is never good) our current sofa is also not conducive to vegging out. Well, not two people at once. So, on a whim one afternoon while shopping at PetSmart (where else?), we walked a few stores down to the furniture store and ordered a sectional sofa. Did we measure before hand? Of course not, this was an impulse buy! So we get home after placing the non-returnable, non-refundable order and break out the tape measure to find, maybe our new sofa was a little too big for our space? This leads to a freak out which leads to us selling our current sofa, two wicker chairs and our TV armoire to make room for the monster sectional sofa. I thought, heck since we're selling the TV armoire, maybe we should go ahead and get one of those flat-screens......and so we did.....and it gives us about an extra foot of space. All this because of a so retro, curved 50's sofa at the Salvation Army!
Taking bets.... how long before one of the cats knocks this thing in the floor and makes me cry.

Why stop now, right? I'm thinking the bar could definitely use some modern bar stools. The ones we have now are falling apart, literally. You sit on the stool and the screws falls out the bottom. The cats have ripped holes in the vinyl and I just think it's time to retire them.

We'll be picking up the monster sectional tomorrow afternoon. Can't wait to snuggle up with Maggie May and the other kitties. It's certainly big enough to hold them all and then some! And I'm sure Saylor will have lots of fun "swiffering" around the bottom!

LOL! As long as it wasn't on credit, it's all good! Ha!

But really, $200 at the Sally Anne? That's crazy!

We know the importance of furniture - afterall 'The Chair' is a vital part of my kingdom (and of course it's MY chair). So it is only fitting my princess gets a sofa, and the tv to watch so she can be entertained whilst on it. We hope there will be comfy cushions too. And I just wish I could share it with her. Purrs and noserubs to you my beloved xxxxx

We just got a new sectional sofa after Grete woofie dug holes in our old (15 year old) sofa that only comfortable seated 1 person and maybe a woofie.

Now our sectional can hold 2 people, 1 woofie and at least 3 cats! You'll love it!

We are laughing too! We're placing on both the cats knocking the Tv down and stretching out on the new sofa so much that you won't be able to fit on it!

Wow! We hope that no one knocks it on the floor! At least no cat!! The regular 18 inch tv here was knocked down recently (by accident) by our mom ... it fell on her knee and left a big bruise for 2 months.

Oooh, new furniture, we like new furniture! And a flat screen too. Mom says be sure not to play Video Catnip on the flat screen as it is just that, Video Catnip! Cats paws and flat screens don't mix, at least not at our house. hee hee
Enjoy!
