Who Loves Canned Cat Food?
Maggie May just loves to eat! In fact, at her checkup last
month, she had gained a whole pound since last year! Although she is still only
9.2lbs, we don’t want her to gain any more weight because of her knees. We don’t
need any added pressure to those delicate knee caps.
For the most part, Maggie May eats dry cat food, but I like
to give her delicious flavors
of canned cat food as a snack every now and then. After all, Maggie May is a
Queen and she deserves to be spoiled to the hilt! However, she can also be a
royal pain to the other kitties if they try to get into her food dish while she
is chowing down. You should hear the noises she makes….hisses….growls…. Don’t
mess with Maggie May’s food. It will not end well!
When deciding on the appropriate canned snack, it’s
important to choose something healthy and pleasing to the kitty’s finicky palate.
Maggie May loves all things from the deep
blue sea. Shrimp, salmon, tuna, crab…. She even tried squid once and liked it.
Let’s just say, she’s braver than I am. LOL! She would have loved growing up in
my parents’ house. My father was a commercial fisherman and practically every
night we had some sort of seafood for supper. Usually, it was the one thing I
disliked most….shrimp! I know - I’m strange. Who doesn’t love shrimp?
I always check the ingredients when choosing the healthiest
food for Maggie May. You want the first ingredient listed (after water) to be a
meat. The ingredients on a food label are listed by weight, so the ingredient
weighing the most is listed first. When the
first ingredient is a meat - that is a really good thing!
What are some of your favorite flavors?
Heya my sweetheart. It is good to read you are eating well and putting on weight. Äiti wishes I would do that but I am very fussy. I like turkey. But I weigh less than you :( It is very good you defend your food bowl -I wish you could come hear and growl at the girlcats who push me away!!

My girl has to eat canned because she is a CRF kitty. The only one she'll eat (and thankfully there is at least one!) is Merrick Thanksgiving Day Dinner. It actually smells like Thanksgiving and not cat food. She's been eating it for almost a year and so far so good!
ReplyDeleteI am more of a chicken girl! And I eat all canned... and sometimes KFC if I am being extra finicky and turn down everything else.
ReplyDeleteWe have mostly wet food (Gourmet Pearl) but we don't like rabbit or turkey. We don't like it when there are peas or carrots in it either and leave them in a pile in the bowl. We don't like jelly or pate, it has to be in gravy. Mum says we are too finicky. We like it best when she cooks fish for us but it drives us mad waiting for it to cool down.
ReplyDeleteWe LOVE canned cat food. We tend to eat Wellness (chicken and turkey), Weruva (chicken), and Merrick (Turducken). Truffle can't handle anything with Herring in it.
ReplyDeleteOur favorite kind of canned food is Weruva, especially Marbela Paella! It even has calamari rings in it.
